Why are Mexico's stickers different in the 2026 World Cup album?
Panini collectors have noticed a specific detail on the host nation's stickers that sets them apart from other teams, a change rooted in national legislation.
In the bottom right corner, each sticker features the player's national flag, stylized in a semi-circle that follows the 2026 World Cup aesthetic. However, the Mexican stickers feature the flag in its original rectangular form.
Mexican laws governing the National Shield, Flag, and Anthem dictate that patriotic symbols cannot be altered in shape, color, or design. Consequently, Panini must display the flag as it is, distinguishing it from the rest of the collection.
This marks the first time this law has been applied to stickers; in the last four World Cup albums, the Mexican flag was stylized in various circles and shapes, consistent with the designs used for all other countries.
