McDonald´s again organized its 5K exclusive for women
McDonald´s relived the running party at the hands of its 5K. Exclusively for women, the race returned to the runners calendar, being, in many cases, their first foray into competitions.
More than 6000 runners said present in the afternoon of Puerto Madero. On the day before Mother's Day and dressed in pink, for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, McDonald's returned to running with a race that mixes joy with personal sports challenges of each of the runners.
“It is a pride to see the number of women who signed up to run the M5K and who continue to choose us. There are stories behind each runner who inspire us, from the one who participated in his first race to those who always accompanied us. 'Las Mujeres Corremos' is a proposal that had its first edition on October 30, 2010 and this year it returned in its ninth edition with more than 6,000 runners that covered the streets of Puerto Madero, ”said Silvina Seiguer, Director of Communications at McDonald's .
The race has its solidarity side, because part of the proceeds is donating to the Ronald McDondald House, which accompanies families in street situations. As for the sport, the big winner was, again, Mariela Ortiz. The athlete recorded a time of 17'49´´, dominating the race from end to end and reaching the goal with ample margin.
