LaLiga announces its partnership with Snapchat
LaLiga and Snapchat signed an agreement where users who use the application will be able to enjoy the best of Spanish soccer content, such as weekly summaries, historical archives, behind the scenes, the main goals and saves of the year. This alliance reinforces the commitment of the highest category of sport in Spain to reach new audiences by taking advantage of innovative digital technologies and Snapchat's expansion and growth strategy around the world.
"We are delighted to partner with LaLiga, one of the biggest sports leagues in the world, and to be able to bring premium soccer content to Snapchatters around the world. This is Snap's first partnership with a major European league and a new way for fans to enjoy their favorite sport, whether it's watching match highlights, playing games and sharing Augmented Reality experiences, or dressing their bitmoji with their favorite team's kit," said Alejandro Arenas, head of International Sports Alliances of the American app.
"This agreement represents a step forward for LaLiga in its strategy of digitizing and attracting young audiences, as well as reinforcing our work on social networks. Among the main European leagues, we are leaders in the number of followers on social networks, since we currently have more than 164 million, a record figure. The tools of the Snap ecosystem allow us to offer quality LaLiga content to the youngest fans," says Alfredo Bermejo, director of Digital Strategy for the championship that has been held since 1928.
