Crystal Palace has become the first football club in the world to offer technology for visually impaired fans.
The English team, in collaboration with Give Vision, designed a private 5G network in the stadium that allows fans to sit in the stands and stream live images of the match without missing out on the matchday experience.
This technology acts as a giant magnifier, enabling users to zoom in on specific moments on the pitch and in the stadium. It also captures live images from the main broadcast, giving fans the chance to watch the game in real time without delays, similar to how someone would watch a match on TV.
The device requires users to have some existing vision and works by stimulating the photoreceptor cells in the retinas of the eyes.
