CONMEBOL will award prizes for matches won in the Group Phase for the first time
As of this edition, CONMEBOL will award an additional USD 300,000 per game won in the Group Phase in CONMEBOL Libertadores. In the case of CONMEBOL Sudamericana, the additional amount will be USD 100,000. This is an incentive for all teams to seek victory in each game, which will generate attractive games throughout the competition.
In this way, in CONMEBOL Libertadores up to USD 207,800,000 will be distributed, while in CONMEBOL Sudamericana prizes will reach up to USD 77,800,000.
If they win all their Group Stage matches, the CONMEBOL Libertadores champion could take a total of USD 29,550,000 at the end of the tournament, in addition to the amounts for the Recopa (USD 2,700,000 between the winner and the runner-up), the FIFA Club World Cup and automatic qualification to the group stage of the following year. If the same situation occurred in the South American Cup, the champion could receive an accumulated amount of USD 8,675,000 plus the purse corresponding to the Recopa and the amounts for participation in the following Libertadores.
