Coca-Cola forces recall of retro Fluminense shirts

The beverage giant issued a cease-and-desist notification to the manufacturer of two vintage-style kits inspired by the club's 1992-93 season.

Produced by specialty apparel brand Liga Retrô, the shirts were launched in late July for the "Tricolor". The design featured the popular supporter chant "Louco da Cabeça" across the chest, styled using Coca-Cola's trademarked script typography.

According to local journalist Paulo Brito, the trademark infringement claim forced Fluminense and Liga Retrô to pull the product line from their official online and brick-and-mortar stores.

Coca-Cola served as Fluminense's primary shirt sponsor from the mid-1980s through 1994, marking one of the most iconic and longest-running main sponsorship partnerships in Brazilian football history.
