Brazil loses four sponsors one year before the FIFA World Cup 2026
GOL Linhas Aéreas, Mastercard, Pague Menos, and TCL Semp have decided not to renew their partnership with the Brazilian national team, reducing the number of official sponsors from 16 to just 5.
The main reason for this situation is related to the management of the CBF president, who has been accused of alleged irregularities in the administration of the organization, including reports of excessive spending and questionable relationships with federal government figures. Despite the accusations, Ednaldo Rodrigues was re-elected in March 2025 for a second term running from April 2026 to 2030.
Additionally, in early April, the resignation of Lênin Franco, former Commercial and Marketing Director of the CBF, was also confirmed. The position remains vacant.
This loss of financial backing is a major blow to the image of the Brazilian national team, which has historically been one of the strongest in terms of attracting global brands. Among the brands that still support the “Seleção” are Nike, Itaú, Ambev, Vivo, and Cimed.
