Wanda acquired the Diamond League name rights for ten years
The International Athletics Federation (IAAF) sold the Diamond League name rights to Wanda Sports. The Chinese company will sponsor the competition for 10 years from 2020. In addition, the marketing agency that belongs to the brand acquired the audiovisual rights of the tournament between 2025 and 2029.
Wanda continues to stomp in sports and this time will be present in the world of athletics. This link between the company and the IAAF will allow the Diamond League to arrive once a season to Chinese lands. On the side of audiovisual rights, Infront is the marketing agency, belonging to Wanda, which will be responsible for marketing the transmission of events on different television networks in the world.
This link also covers the second major competition: World Challenge Series. Wanda will sponsor this circuit organized by IAAF, when they begin in 2020.
"Our commitment is to work together with the IAAF and the Diamond League to develop athletics both in China and around the world and consolidate it as one of the sport's reference events," said Hengming Yang, Wanda delegate.
