Adidas conquered its third Masters thanks to Tsitsipas

Last Sunday, Stefanos Tsitsipas devoted himself to the ATP World Tour Finals in London and won the most important trophy of his short career. The 21-year-old Greek conquered the tournament that brings together the eight best players of the year and broke a new record for the company that saw him: Adidas.

In the last two decades, Adidas had only won this title with two players: Novak Djokovic (2008) and Alexander Zverev (2018). The consecration of Tsitsipas made the German brand beat a pending debt with this tournament: win consecutively. On the other hand, the Masters final between the Greek and Dominic Thiem was the first between two tennis players sponsored by the German company.

Since the beginning of the 21st century and with the emergence of Roger Federer, Nike became strong in this competition. The American company, along with the Swiss, won the title six times. In addition to Federer, other players such as the Australian Lleyton Hewitt (2001 and 2002) and the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (2017) increased the account for Nike.

List of champion brands in the 21st century:

- 9 titles: Nike (Roger Federer, Lleyton Hewitt and Grigor Dimitrov)

- 4 titles: Uniqlo (Novak Djokovic, 2012 to 2015)

- 3 titles: Adidas (Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas)

- 1 title: Diadora (Gustavo Kuerten, 2000), Yonex (David Nalbandian, 2005), Airness (Nikolai Davydenko, 2009) and Under Armor (Andy Murray, 2016).
