Netflix to broadcast the 2030 World Cup in Spain
The streaming giant has acquired exclusive broadcasting rights to air every match of the upcoming World Cup across the Iberian country.
The agreement grants full tournament exclusivity, with the sole exception of a single free-to-air package per matchday. Spanish public television will broadcast matches featuring the national team, alongside the semifinals and final.
Netflix will run a similar live-sports pilot next year during the Women's World Cup in Brazil, streaming every match exclusively across North America while producing accompanying shoulder programming and behind-the-scenes content.
The move marks a major escalation in the platform's live sports strategy, building on its previous broadcasting forays into NFL games, high-profile boxing events, and custom tennis exhibition matches.
