Netflix continues its foray into football
The streaming platform reached an agreement with the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to launch a documentary series featuring all the color of the tournament.
The material will join the "AFCON Daily Highlights" which showcase important match moments from the cup once a day. It will be available to all Netflix users in Africa.
This alliance is the platform's third with football entities in just over a year, as between 2024 and 2025 it held two agreements with FIFA: one to broadcast the Women's World Cup starting in 2027, and another to launch a 2026 World Cup video game on its Netflix Games interface.
