FC Barcelona reported a massive loss in the 2023/24 season
According to the Catalan club, they closed the financial year this Monday with a net loss of 91 million euros.
This negative result is mainly due to the non-payment by some investor partners in Bridgeburg Invest SL, a company that in 2022 acquired 49% of Barça Vision, one of the key areas in the club’s digital expansion strategy.
Despite these challenges, FC Barcelona also announced a historic record in sponsorship revenue, surpassing 210 million euros, along with significant growth in BLM (Barça Licensing & Merchandising), the company responsible for managing the club’s licenses and marketing. BLM reached a revenue of almost 110 million euros, marking a 72% increase since its creation in 2018.
Although regular income was positive, the club ended the 2023/24 season with a consolidated net balance of -91 million euros.
