Mediapro will provide its services for the VAR in the Copa América 2019

The company Mediapro will take charge of the technology necessary for the realization of the VAR in the tournaments organized by the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol). Based on this agreement, the Spanish audiovisual group will provide its services in the next Copa América that will be held in Brazil between June 14 and July 7.

With this agreement signed between both parties, for the first time they will use the method of assistance for the referees in the competition that brings together the 10 South American teams and two more invited by Conmebol. Mediapro is the company in charge of the VAR in LaLiga of Spain. For the new edition of the Copa América, all stadiums will have a maximum of 24 connected cameras and 3 Xeebras (instant replay system designed for technicians and referees).

Mediapro came to CONMEBOL football for the final stages of the Copa Libertadores and Sudamericana in 2018. The renewal of the contract will allow the Spanish company to remain linked for the second consecutive year.
