McDonald's to become a stadium naming sponsor for the first time

The leading fast-food chain will lend its name to the Chicago Fire's new "McDonald's Park."

Set to open in 2028, the construction will involve a total investment of $750 million.

Beyond the naming rights, McDonald's will offer fan experiences and open a permanent location within the venue, which will be used not only for MLS matches but also for concerts and events.

Chicago Fire will allocate a portion of the funds from the new sponsor to expand the PLAYS program, which supports youth football in schools, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

This marks the first time McDonald's has become a stadium naming sponsor, as its only other title intervention in football is the French "Ligue 1 McDonald's." Currently, 26 out of the 30 MLS franchises have a sponsor in their stadium's name.
