Mastercard activates its sponsorship with the CONMEBOL Copa América together with Sergio Goycochea and Sebastián Abreu
The pandemic has reinvented us and reinvented activations within the world of sports marketing. Mastercard, official sponsor of the CONMEBOL Copa América, did not want to miss the opportunity to do a Trophy Tour but this time in a different way, with distance but with the same passion. Unlike in other years, where fans could go to see the trophy, cardholders had the opportunity to be chosen to receive it at home but from the hand of Sergio Goycochea and Sebastián Abreu.
"Goyco" was champion of the CONMEBOL Copa América in 1991 and 1993, being one of the key pieces of the Argentine team with Alfio "Coco" Basile in the lead. The archer not only toured Buenos Aires to deliver the trophy and have an experience that is priceless, but also brought a unique gift: his renowned diver from that time. For his part, "El Loco" (CONMEBOL Copa América champion 2011) visited two Montevideo residents who were surprised to see him and enjoyed his football talk and the signing of the "Celeste" shirt.
