LeBron James pays tribute to Martin Luther King with his new sneakers
The Nike LeBron 23 "Honor The King" features a color palette inspired by the African-American civil rights activist.
The turquoise and "Hyper Jade" tones are based on the iconic doors and signage of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis—the site where Dr. King was assassinated in 1968 and which now houses the National Civil Rights Museum. The design also features golden crown accents on the sides and the word "EQUALITY" stamped on the heel.
LeBron James has a deep-rooted admiration for Dr. King's legacy. He previously donated $2.5 million to the National Museum of African American History and Culture to support an exhibit honoring Muhammad Ali and has consistently funded educational initiatives that promote these values.
The sneakers are set to release on January 20, 2026, across the United States at a retail price of $210. LeBron debuted them on-court during the Lakers' game against the New Orleans Pelicans on January 6.
