Historic Diego Maradona memorabilia heads to auction
Leading football auction house Matchday Auctions will honor the '10' with a unique collection.
Online bidding (October 28 - November 28) includes items from the FC Barcelona jersey worn in the 'Battle of Bernabéu', other shirts from Boca Juniors, Napoli, Argentinos Juniors, and even earrings from Diego's farewell match.
Maradona's 1986 'Hand of God' jersey remains his most valuable item, selling for $9.3 million in 2022.
That shirt ranks fourth among history's most expensive sports memorabilia, behind Babe Ruth's 1932 jersey ($24.1M), a 1952 Topps baseball card ($12.6M), and Michael Jordan's 1998 'Last Dance' jersey ($10.1M). Fifth place belongs to the original 1892 Olympic Manifesto ($8.8M).
