Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Paraguay will participate in the inaugural edition of the Concacaf Gold Cup W 2024
The announcement was made on February 8, through the official Concacaf communication channels, but little has been said about this historic participation of the CONMEBOL member teams. The competition will take place between February 17 and March 10, 2024, in the United States, but its qualifying stage will begin in September 2023.
The tournament will include a six-team preliminary round and a 12-team group stage, followed by a three-round knockout stage. The final, on Sunday, March 10, 2024, will crown the best women's national team and conclude an elite women's soccer cycle, which also included the 2022 Concacaf W Championship Qualifier and the 2022 Concacaf W Championship.
The group stage of the Gold Cup W 2024 will include the participation of eight Concacaf teams and four invitees from CONMEBOL. So far, the United States (reigning world champions) have secured a spot by winning the 2022 Concacaf W Championship. They will be joined by the winner of the Concacaf Olympic playoffs (Canada or Jamaica) and six other Concacaf teams that will qualify through previous rounds. . The invited countries of CONMEBOL have been determined based on the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2022.
