Why do Europe’s lowest-ranked national teams wear Adidas kits?
UEFA reached an agreement with the three-stripes brand as the provider for the "Kit Assistance Scheme," a program that supplies apparel to smaller football federations.
Created in 2007, the initiative aims to provide match and training gear to smaller or developing nations, ensuring they have access to high-quality equipment and professional designs.
Renewed every two years, UEFA has selected Adidas for the 2026-2028 cycle, covering the national teams of Andorra, Belarus, Cyprus, Faroe Islands, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Malta, and San Marino.
Adidas returns to the program after an absence of several years; the Italian brand Erreà had held the contract since 2022, following a period where Macron manufactured the kits.
