Nike fired the American women's team at Time Square
The United States is one of the candidate teams to win the World Cup in France. With three cups in their cabinets and being the defending champion, those led by Jill Ellis started the countdown to the World Cup.
Despite being one of the most powerful teams in the field of women's football, the American team is no stranger to the request for equality with their male counterparts. In order to shorten this gap, the presence of brands is essential and that's why the farewell to the selection was made in the mythical Time Square organized by Nike.
The Oregon-based company organized an event where the 23 selected by Ellis toured the streets of New York City on top of an open bus. Greetings to the hundreds of fans who crowded, the event had as a finishing touch the presentation of the audiovisual campaign that will be broadcast by the giant screens that are in Time Square.
The 23 names of those chosen by Ellis are reproduced by the giant screens as well as the images of the main ambassadors of Nike. "Having so many people watching the screens and sharing that moment with us was really special," Crystal Dunn told the media after the action.
