Why Doesn’t the Argentine National Team Jersey at the Olympics Have the AFA Crest?

The Argentine delegation competing in the Olympic Games in the football discipline does not feature the crest of the Argentine Football Association (AFA) but instead has the crest of the Argentine Olympic Committee (AOC).

This is because the Olympic Games have very strict rules regarding attire, allowing only the crest of each country's Olympic Committee and the logo of the brand that outfits them, which can be represented only once. This is also why the jersey does not have Adidas’s characteristic three stripes on the shoulders, as they are considered a brand presence.

In the 2008 Beijing Games, the Argentine national team resolved this in a unique way by painting the AFA crest in light blue and white and adding the COA crest on the left sleeve.

It is also worth noting that all athletes must wear their committee's uniform throughout the entire month of competition, whether during rest, training, or play.
