Match officials from World Cup host nations wear special-edition jerseys
Adidas has added a unique touch to the kits of referees representing Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
Marking the tournament debut of the brand's iconic three stripes on referee uniforms, officials hailing from the host nations are wearing stripes custom-colored to match their respective national flags.
Tori Penso wore blue, red, and white stripes representing the United States; Katia Itzel García sported green, white, and red in a nod to the Mexican flag; and Canada's Drew Fischer showcased red and white.
Other referee kit innovations introduced at this World Cup include individual last names printed on the back and a commemorative uniform celebrating the milestone 1,000th World Cup match between Tunisia and Japan. Additionally, officials are expected to take the pitch in gold uniforms for the final for the first time in history.
