FC Barcelona broke a YouTube record
The club became the sports entity with the most subscribers on its official YouTube channel.
The milestone was reached this weekend when they narrowly surpassed FIFA and NBA's subscriber counts. Many new subscribers came from the official broadcast of the Joan Gamper Trophy match against Como FC on YouTube.
The top 5 sports channels by subscribers are now:
1) FC Barcelona (23.9 million)
2) FIFA (23.6M)
3) NBA (23.3M)
4) Real Madrid (18.1M)
5) Olympics (15.2M)
Among football clubs, Liverpool (11.7M), Juventus (11.6M) and Manchester United (10.3M) follow behind.
WWE's official channel has over 100 million YouTube followers but isn't considered a sports competition, rather an entertainment show.
