Volkswagen becomes a member of US Soccer
Volkswagen is one of the automotive companies that for several years now has football as its main ally to continue its expansion in the world and position itself as "the football brand". On this occasion, the German automaker becomes official sponsor of the US Soccer (United States Football Federation) with the primary objective of supporting the development of sport in the country. According to the Federation itself, "Volkswagen's commitment will be to help US football to increase the number of practitioners, develop players and coaches, and even increase the commitment of fans around the sport."
By this agreement, the automaker will stamp its logo on all the training uniforms of the American football teams, which includes national teams for men and women, all the national youth teams and also the national soccer teams of sand, futsal, 7 Paralympic soccer and all the soccer development gyms of the country. In addition, the carmaker will be the presenting partner of the Tournament of Nations, an international women's competition that the US has every year in which there is no Women's World Cup or Summer Olympics.
Although the agreement's values have not been revealed, according to the US press, the contract revolves around eight digits a year. If that is confirmed, it will be the second largest contract signed by US Soccer, behind the long association with Nike.
