The numbers around Superbowl LVII

Superbowl LVII, played yesterday in Arizona and in which the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-25, generated much more than what happened on the field of play. Although there are still no official audience figures - last year they took two days to publish -, FOX announced in advance of the meeting that it expected a record of 115 million viewers, which would exceed the 114 million of the 2014 edition.

What was known were the numbers of food and drinks that were sold over the weekend in the United States. According to the Ataque Marketing site, from Friday to Sunday, 1.5 billion chicken wings, 9 million kilos of French fries, 14 billion hamburgers, 12.5 million pizzas, 2 million soda cans and 50 million beer packaging

On the other hand, last week the price for each 30-second ad that was broadcast during the meeting had been announced: 7 million dollars. In that concept alone, the NFL and FOX shared about 500 million dollars. In addition, Apple paid another 50 million to sponsor Rihanna's show during halftime. The singer from Barbados did not charge for her show, although she took the opportunity during her performance to take a break and apply makeup with her own brand, Fenty, with which she managed to advertise it without disbursing the millionaire figures that it would have cost.
