Mercedes extends its agreement with Petronas to compete in Formula 1

Mercedes extended its sponsorship agreement with Petronas to compete in Formula 1 beyond 2026 and includes the development of 100% sustainable fuel. The deal is for $75 million per season. The partnership began in 2010 and since then the squad has brought with it one of the clearest dominances in recent history of seven world championships for drivers and eight for the constructors' team.

“Petronas is fully equipped to refine the technology to produce and supply 100% sustainable fuel for next-generation power units,” Datuk Sazali Hamzah, Petronas Executive Vice President, recently stated.

“We are doing something a bit unusual: announcing a partnership four years from now. This sends an important message: our team and Petronas are not just partners, we are a family and will be for many years to come,” said Toto Wolff, CEO of the car brand.
