Estudiantes de La Plata received less prize money than the Brazilian Serie B champion
Following their victory in the Clausura Tournament, the 'Pincha' received $500,000 from AFA, 28% less than the Coritiba club.
For being promoted to the top division of the Brasileirão, Coritiba earned a sum of 3.5 million reais, equivalent to $642,000, which is $142,000 more than Estudiantes' prize money.
Regarding the Brazilian Serie A, the difference is even greater: Flamengo, the champion, received $10 million, 20 times more than the club from La Plata.
The $500,000 figure from AFA comes from a CONMEBOL incentive for the champions of South American tournaments. Since 2022, the Argentine football entity has awarded the same sum to the winners of the League Cup and the Professional League.
Estudiantes also received 70% of the revenue from ticket sales for the final in Santiago del Estero, which is estimated to be another million dollars for the 'Lion'.
