Corinthians’ Issue with the Copa do Brasil Champions Patch
Timão may not wear the distinction on their jersey due to reasons related to their main sponsor.
The betting company Betano holds the naming rights to the competition, but Corinthians’ main sponsor is Esportes da Sorte, another online betting platform.
The club requested from the Brazilian Football Confederation a version of the patch without the Copa’s naming sponsor, and if approved, they will wear it on their jersey.
This is not the first time this has happened in Brazilian football, as São Paulo FC were champions in 2023 and chose not to use the patch since their main sponsor was also a competitor of Betano.
