The MLB leads the sports ranking for license sales

The Major League Baseball (MLB) was the sports brand in the world with the highest turnover in 2018. The US league had revenues of 5,500 million dollars and is in tenth place in the ranking of the companies that generate more money. The list is led by The Walt Disney Company ($ 54.7 billion).

This ranking is armed by the Global License, which is responsible for quantifying revenue from the sale of the right to use the brands. The MLB outperforms other North American companies that are also listed as the NFL (3,500 million) and the NBA (3,200 million). Both leagues occupy positions 16 and 17 respectively. The three competitions lead retail sales in the sports industry.

The Ferrari automaker is the first non-American brand that appears in the top 40. Position 25 belongs to the Italian company that had revenues in 2018 for 2.6 billion dollars.
