Banfield up to the world of NFTs
The link between the world of football and technology is increasingly close. With the possibility of reaching cities and countries, which the club could not by itself due to its geographical location, sign sponsorships with companies that offer virtual proposals, it becomes the management model for many of them.
In the case of Argentina, Banfield is once again a pioneer in technology because it is introduced to the world of NFTs by the hand of the Stredium company. Launching a collectible line of digital assets, fans will be able to opt for two “platinum and gold” collections. The first will be acquired through auctions and the second will have an initial value of five dollars.
For the launch of this sponsorship, the fans of the Drill will be able to acquire the digital assets "planito". There will be three NFTs of exclusive design and that are in tribute to three references of the club. The 2001 promotion shirt of José Luis “Garrafa” Sánchez from the 2001 season promotion shirt, the 2009 champion James Rodríguez and the current Jesús Dátolo.
Josep M. Monti, CEO of Stredium: “The opportunities that blockchain technology, and in particular NFTs, can bring to the sports industry are enormous. The tokenization in which we are working offers a new endless of unique experiences, both physical and digital, and this new way of monetizing the assets of a club is a new economy that in a short time will represent a paradigm shift in sport " .
