Thibaut Courtois joins Novak Djoković as shareholder of French club

Through his investment firm NXPLAY, the Belgian goalkeeper has acquired a stake in Ligue 2 side Le Mans FC.

The move follows Brazilian fund OutField becoming the majority shareholder of the team, with Courtois's firm and others joining as strategic partners.

The Real Madrid star joins tennis legend Novak Djokovic and F1 drivers Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen on the club's list of shareholders.

Within the current "Merengues" squad, Courtois is the third player to invest in a European club, following Kylian Mbappé’s acquisition of SM Caen and Vinícius Jr.’s investment in Portugal's FC Alverca.
