The Maracanã to host an NFL game for the first time

As part of the "Brasil Game," the National Football League will head to Rio de Janeiro's historic stadium.

The game, part of the 2026/27 regular season, will feature the Dallas Cowboys as one of the participating teams. An opponent is yet to be announced, but the "America's Team" is confirmed to make its first international trip in over a decade.

The first two editions of the NFL's venture into Brazil took place in September 2024 and 2025 at São Paulo's Arena Corinthians, drawing crowds of 47,000 fans.

The NFL International Series will reach a record nine games in 2026, including first-ever stops in Melbourne, Australia (featuring the LA Rams at the MCG) and Paris, France (featuring the New Orleans Saints at the Stade de France). The schedule also includes a return to the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid and Mexico City.
