Lewis Hamilton becomes the best paid F1 driver in history
In 2008 he became the youngest driver to win the Formula 1 title with only 23 years and 9 months. From there, everything went uphill and from 2013 driving a McLaren, he managed to consecrate himself in four more opportunities (2014, 2015, 2017, 2018). Today, Lewis Hamilton is the reference of the category and the magazine Forbes made it clear by positioning it in the first place, after agreeing his new and millionaire contract with Mercedes with an annual salary of 49 million dollars, which means a entered total from its debut of 487 million dollars.
It took several years to dethrone Michael Schumacher from the first ranking position of the magazine, since the American was an icon of the category and reaped 463 million dollars in his career. Despite having withdrawn from the top flight in 2017, the Spanish Fernando Alonso completed the podium with a total of 465 million, as it has been a star that played several teams. Sebastian Vettel (356 million) and Kimi Räikkönen (329 million) also make up the ranking to close in a luxury top five.
