The data released after the end of the 2018 season show that the audience in the circuits that make up the F1 circus increased by 7.8% in relation to the previous year, and the trend is to be even higher in 2019. According to the figures provided by the organizers of each race, the category exceeded 4 million spectators (4,093,305, more accurately) in the field in the 21 events of the year. The average participation was of more than 200 thousand people in practically all the weekends of the race. To have an idea, on Sunday of the race, the average audience was just over 80 thousand spectators (80,093, to be more exact). The number is much greater, for example, than the average seen in the World Cup of Russia, the main sports event of 2018, which stood at 47,371 people.

Formula 1 still beat soccer championships known for the massive presence of the public, such as the Champions League (46,630) and the Bundesliga (44,657). In terms of the average, the competition that came closest to the most important category of world motorsport was the NFL, with 67,405 spectators per game. "These large numbers, compared favorably with other major sporting events, confirming a growth trend. We are particularly pleased with the results and the surveys conducted during the season with respect to the levels of satisfaction of the spectators, because they show that our efforts to involve the fans are working well, "said Sean Bratches, director of commercial operations of the Formula one.
