Airbnb gives away 50 tickets for the World Cup final

Ahead of the highly anticipated clash between Argentina and Spain, the accommodation-sharing platform activated its FIFA partnership with a unique promotional campaign.

Under the initiative, users booking selected properties in the areas surrounding the stadium received a match ticket simply by tracking down a hidden football icon within the app.

Since the quarter-final stage, Airbnb has given away over 1,600 tickets across Boston, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Kansas City, and New York. While the first 50 tickets for the final were claimed instantly, more are set to be released soon.

The campaign offers fans a way to offset their tournament expenses, with Airbnb noting that while a local night's stay averages $385, tickets on the secondary market for the championship match are currently fetching thousands of dollars.
