YouTube will broadcast NBA games in Africa
The NBA continues with its process of global expansion and in this opportunity it touched the moment of Africa. The most important basketball championship in the world will open an official channel on YouTube where African fans will be able to see matches and the best moments of the matches that are played during the week.
The official channel will debut with a broadcast on Sunday 24 when they broadcast live the cross between Charlotte Hornets and Boston Celtics. In this new project, YouTube will broadcast the remainder of the season: play-offs, conference finals and the final. In addition to the meetings, NBA will hold a weekly program with documentaries about African players from the past and present. The NBA was the first sports league to partner with YouTube. The first agreement between both parties was in 2005.
"This YouTube channel is another important milestone for the NBA in Africa and will allow more fans to access our games, live and on demand, across the continent," said NBA vice president and managing director in Africa, Amadou Gallo Fall.
